Plug and Plant

In addition to vegetation blankets for Green roofs, ROOFGREEN UK also specialise in the more traditional plug and plant application methods. Often a more economical solution this system can provide extensive coverage after a period of a few months.

However, ROOFGREEN UK, in association with our direct link to the nursery can provide ‘Jumbo’ plugs. These offer the economy of a plug and plant system but are supplied as precultivated, established 4-5cm plug plants, not cuttings or pre-germinated seeds. This option offers approx 45% immediate coverage once installed across the roofscape with an increased growth rate to achieve 100% coverage within 3-6 months.

Jumbo Plugs are becoming increasingly popular with clients who require a cost effective, lightweight green roofing solution on Flat roofs with a pitch of less than
5 degrees.
